Transfer Students

Transfer Students

Many students transfer to the Woods College of Advancing Studies with previously earned college credit. Whether your credits are earned at a community college or another four-year institution, we want the transfer process to be as easy as possible while also ensuring you get the most out of your hard-earned credits.

Processes & Policies

Process

In order to start the transfer credit process, you can either apply for admission or request a prospective student transfer credit evaluation.

Apply for Admission

Submitting your application for admission will automatically start the transfer credit process.  Copies of official or unofficial transcripts are acceptable for admissions purposes; however, official transcripts are required if you are accepted into a Woods College program. Please visit our How to Apply page for more information.

Request a Prospective Student Transfer Credit Evaluation

If you're not quite ready to apply yet, you may request a preliminary review of your transcript(s) for transfer credit. Copies of official or unofficial transcripts are acceptable to evaluate potential transfer credit. However, official transcripts are required if you are later accepted into a Woods College program.

Timeline

If You Apply for Admission

Transfer credit awards are processed once you have been admitted to a bachelor’s degree program, and we have received transcripts from each institution listed on your application. Transfer credit reviews can take up to one week after you have received your admissions decision.

If You Requested a Transfer Credit Evaluation

Prospective student transfer credit reviews can take between one and two weeks once all transcripts are submitted. Once your transcripts have been reviewed for potential transfer credit, you will receive an email.
